I woke up at 5.15, packed my things and walked the short way to the station. 2nd class with fans in the cealing and open windows and plenty of room for the legs! Breakfast, some bananas and almonds in choklate! Exciting to be on my way to the unknown!
A lady went thru the wagon and I got a small cup of coffee with lots of sugar and cream and it went down without problem. It took a long time to get out of Bangkok, but later the landscape changed into more forest, hills and almost mountains! All the time during the trip people were walking up and down the wagon, selling different types of food, from whole meals to eggs to drinks in plastic bags etc. The smell of different food filled sometimes the wagon!
A lady came and took the place next to me and becauce of her size she took a part of my place too!
The toilett were two foot plates and a hole, that's comon in this part of the world. It's hard to use it when the train rolls in the speed.
From dawn to dask/dark - when I arrived at the destination it was dark. A couple from the train helped me to bargain the price with the tuc-tuc driver from 140 Bath to 80. (SEK divide by 4). He drow the 3-wheel vehicle like he had stolen it, but we arrived safely at Sri Isam Hotel. Yes, they had a room for one night for 440 bath!
After leaving my luggage at the room I went down to the lobby for a Singa beer and I sat outside in the warm evening. A police officer came up and sat down beside me and offered to pick me up tomorrow morning and take me to the monastery! I walked out to the Market - lots of people and food stalls, but after a while I went back to a small nice restaurant for a green curry beef and rice!
Back to the Hotel and I asked for a taxi tomorrow morning to take me to the monastery!
