Yesterday I had a hard time to find out about busses to the boarder, but finally the woman in the Guest House told me there are buses 4.30, 5.30.... So I decided to go for the earliest one to be in good time at the boarder. Woke up at 3.30, got ready and down. The man pointed out a tuk tuk further down on the street and I went there. I had to wake him up, as he was sleeping in the vehicle, but fine, we were on the way. About 4.10 I arrived at Bus Terminal no 2 to find out that the 4.30 bus didn't go anymore. I was lucky, there was a 7 Eleven open so I could get some coffee and a yoghurt! Then wait for an hour! The bus came, and we went away. It was stil dark!! Next to me in the row a woman and her little 8 month old son came and we talked a bit and the boy was fun! After about 5 hour in the bus we reached the market place at the boarder! I got of and the mother sitting next to me said, why don't you take the motorbike to the boarder? So I did, jumped up in the back and he took me to a building! A Canadian girl, Lisbeth, from the bus came also! They looked at the pass ports and gave her a visa and then said we had to take a taxi to Siam Reap as the buses wouldn't work. It was quite expensive but we decided to share the taxi! One of the men took us first to the Thai boarder and then to the Cambodian boarder and told us to come back for the taxi. It went smoth and soon we were on our way, but suddenly he found out that he had some problem and he turned back! We had to change car and now we were on our two hour journey to Siam Reap! We had payed double price for the taxi, but.... we came to Siam R. They changed us to a tuk tuk but that driver said that if we hired him tomorrow to see the sites, it was free od charge, otherwise we had to pay him. We refused and after long discussions he took us diwn town, but not to the Guest House!! We left him and walked and I found my place and Lisbeth went to another place, so we said good by! They were skilled to foul us as they did and we could both stand having to pay extra 20 USD, for this trip!
The Guest House is nice and I also have a balcony overlooking the river! I rested a while and then I went out for a coffee and a chokolate cake! Back to the hostel and I checked e-mails etc and then I went down to the conected restaurant for an evening meal! Now it's soon time for bed to be able to enjoy the largest religious site in the world - Angkor Wat. Here are lots of tourists in the city and a hectic life!
Quite a hard trip, but at least you arrived safely - that’s the most important thing!! Cute little boy! :-)
