It started with the crazy fountain. It was not working so I went back in the evening!
After this it was time for the presidents palace! Impressive ! It was ones built for the Frensh Governor!
Next was the Wat Si Saket, now a museum and built around 1825! Its the thousand Buddhas
Former Monastry! Beautiful !
Next was the museum of religion. Also an old beautiful building. Next on the tour is the Catholic Church opposite the mighty Frensh Embassy.
I passed the big food market place and next to that is the Talat Sao, a shooping centre where you used to be able to buy opium pipes etc!
I just had to walk to the "arc du Triumph" and up all the stairs to get a good view of Vientiane!
Next stop was at the famous Stupa, untill 1828 covered by gold, carted off by the siamese during their pillaing!
Now it was time for lunch and I went to the best Laos restaurant. It was only me and the rest where Lao people. The recommendation was to have frogs and it was tasty together with a local beer!
After this long walk for about 4 hours I tried to find the Herbal Steam Sauna and after walking around the block twice, I finally found it! There was separate Saunas for men and women and a small pool with cold water to por over yourself! It was nice and as always in Saunas, there was a lot of talks!
After this I had to buy a memory stick to secure the pictures, because the IPAD was filled! I manage to do so and walked to an Internet Café and fixed it. In the evening I walked further away to a nice place for a beer overlooking the river and the night market! Close to the river there was a gym and lots of people participated. It was like F&S on Ribban, with a male and a female leader! And there were two different large groups doing so!
I walked to the famous hotel for some dance and music, stating at seven, but the interest for this cultural event was low!
I picked a rather simple but good restaurant and I had rice and chicken with veggys and a small beer!
Good night everybody out there!
You can´t bear without sauna. Nice. But the frogs didn´t look tasty :-( Impressing buildings and your curiosity. When will you be back at Ribban? Good luck.............
