Travelling to Vang Vieng

After breakfast and packing I was waiting for the pick up to the bus to Vand Vieng! The bus came late and when we came to the take off place there was no bus for some of us. We waited and after about an hour they told to sit up on a tuk tuk, and of we went. They stoped at a place and there was a bus. The only thing was, they where reparing it. And about 2 hours late we finally left Vientiane, after many turns!

Out of town the bus went very well and after about one hour or so the landskape became more hilly and finally it was those limestone mountains that are in northern Vietnam and on Cuba! It was curvy roads but he was a good driver and finally we arrived in Vang Vieng, but two hours late - nothing to do about that! Inleft the bus and headed for the Phoubane Guest House, recommended by Lonely Planet. Yes, we have a room and I looked at it before deciding - two night for 160 SEK, OK!

The view from this place are very nice, overlooking the river. I took a beer and stared looking for what to do. My plane is to go moto tomorrow. According to Lonely Planet a man named Joe should run the best business, so I walked to see him, but I didn't find the place. I found another manthat offered me a brand new Moto and we decided that I should be there tomorrow at 8am.

I also booked a bus ticket for Luand Prabang on Sunday, so that was good. I went to a place that's recommended and got a coffee and a cake before walking around. It was a man from Austria that was running this coffee. The bridges, one with toll was interesting, made of bambu or so. This is a wonderful place on earth.

Up until 2009 this was a place where young people came to try various drugs and some young people died from overdoses so the government decided to clean that part and no it's a nice place for different activities.
Going by boat, kayak, moto, balloon etc you just name all the possible activities that you could do and the mountains around makes it a beautiful place. The river is the motor for many activities.

After the walk it was time for dinner and next to the Guest House I had some nice dinner and a dark Lao beer to drink. It was a laid back place and you could sit cousy when having the dinner!

Fixing the bus!!!!

The view from the Guest House!

A little like the "wild west"!

Balloon just over my head!

Nice place to relaxe - the weather should be more sunny, of course!
