We were 6 people and a guide that should do this together. After putting away valuables in a safe we went by minibus north. After about half an hour we reached our starting point! We took a boat and at the same time a large group where elephant rider across the river! Another 15 minutes and we were ready to walk! Our guide BK from northern Laos was leading the walk. He is a very nice man.
The first stop was a small villages where this woman were visiting the local shop.
We walked out of this villages and now we started going up, and up and up. He said it was about 630 m up. The sun came thru and we saw the very beautiful landscape.
After some time we reached a snall lake and it was time for lunch! We had it with us in a banana leaf - good. We also went into a house and saw the simple kitchen area, the bed, the water filtration and the spirit! They beleave that the spirit is behind all bad things that happens, and you have to give offerings to the spirit, to keep him/her in good mood! A man was fishing out in the lake!
We went on and the path went almost up to heaven!
After about 6 hours walking we reach our village where we should spend the night! Very interesting. I don't know how far back in history we have to go in Sweden, when they lived like this!
She was sitting outside the house, working all evening. When it became dark they lighted a fire and her her husband and son joined! I sat by them and the little boy sat in my knee!
This was my bed for the night! The toilett was two footplates on the clay floor!
It was cold in the evening but we had two nice blankets, so it was OK! The roaster started at about two in the morning and it was like he was sitting in the room!! We had a nice dinner in the evening and we could try rice whiskey!
